Giles is a tax partner at Wingrave Yeats, having joined the firm as a partner in 1999.
He qualified with Ernst & Young and then spent 10 years in their personal tax and entrepreneurial services departments before leaving to join us.
Working at the sharp end in personal tax for a number of wealthy individuals, including both entrepreneurs and old family money gave Giles experience that has served him well with the introduction of self assessment for individuals. It also means that he is well placed to advise on the ramifications of, and opportunities arising from, corporate tax planning.
The last six years at Ernst & Young were spent working in a department that was advising both companies and their shareholders, especially family companies where a lot of the issues, including succession, were not only related to tax.
